The statistic shows the average priority given to various information technology investment areas in 2017 according to survey respondents worldwide, as of 2016. At that time, business intelligence and/or 'big data' had, on average, the highest priority for IT investment of all the areas identified. On a scale of 1 to 12, with 1 indicating the highest priority, business intelligence ranked 3.4 in terms of IT investment priority.
