This statistic presents the share of European consumers wishing for the implementation of biometric payments in 2016, by category. During April and May, 48 percent wanted to use one of the biometric methods when paying for public transportations, 47 percent stated their interest of using such methods in the bar or restaurant, and 46 percent wished to pay this way at fast food outlets and grocery retailers on high street.

Research was conducted in 7 European countries: UK, Sweden, Spain, France, Germany, Italy and Poland. The total sample size was 14,236 with around 2,000 respondents per country.
