This statistic presents the distribution of preferences regarding future biometric methods of payment authentication among Europeans, as of spring 2016. During that time, 53 percent of people stated that they would prefer fingerprint scanning as a method of payment, which was considered the most secure from all biometric options. Further 29 percent talked about the combination of traditional PIN methods and some biometric elements, as the safest and fastest option for the future.
Consumers preferred biometric authentication methods for payments in the future in Europe as of 2016
Research was conducted in 7 European countries: UK, Sweden, Spain, France, Germany, Italy and Poland. The total sample size was 14,236 with around 2,000 respondents per country.
