In the Netherlands, most consumers tend to save their money, despite low interest rates. In 2006, the total net national saving in the Netherlands was worth around 81.2 billion euros. Subsequently, this increased to approximately 88.7 billion euros in 2007. By 2016, the value increased, after some fluctuations, to roughly 87.8 billion euros.
