That year, the population either aged 0-14 years or 65 years and older comprised a share of more than 70 percent of the population of those aged 15 to 64. Japan is struggling with an ageing population and one of the lowest fertility rates worldwide. On the other hand, the age dependency ratio in Saudi Arabia was below 40 percent, the lowest of the G20. The age dependency ratio is the population of those aged 0-14 and 65 and above as a share of the working age population aged 15-64.
