Criteria for buying cosmetics among women in the United Kingdom (UK) 2017, by age
This statistic shows the results of a 2017 survey in which female respondents in the United Kingdom (UK) were asked which criteria they use when buying decorative cosmetic products, such as foundation, lipstick and mascara, broken down by age group. For both 18 to 29 and 30 to 59 year olds the most important factor when buying cosmetics is the quality of products, with 58 and 54 percent of respondents, respectively, using this as a criteria for their purchases. In contrast 58 percent of those aged 60 and over said that they base their cosmetic buying decisions on value for money, making this the most important criteria for the older age group.
