The number of passengers recorded at Norwegian airports increased from roughly 22 million in 2021 to 45 million in 2022. Handling approximately half of all air traffic in Norway, Oslo Airport is by far the largest airport in the country. Bergen, Trondheim, and Stavanger also play an important role concerning international air transportation.

Passengers arriving at or departing from Norwegian airports in 2023 were mainly domestic travelers. International passengers on scheduled flights accounted for around 40 percent of passengers that year.
