This statistic illustrates the findings of a survey on the reasons for using online dating sites or apps in the United Kingdom (UK) in June 2017, by age group. During the survey period, it was found that 50 percent of responding individuals aged between 18 to 29 years, stated that they used online dating sites or apps in order to meet people who shared their interest or hobbies. Of respondents within that age group, 39 percent reported that their primary intention was to find someone for either a long-term relationship or marriage.
