This statistic illustrates the findings of a survey on the reasons for using online dating sites or apps in the United Kingdom (UK) in June 2017. During the survey period, it was found that 46 percent of responding current or former users stated that they used online dating sites or apps in order to meet people who shared their interest or hobbies. Of respondents, 45 percent reported that their primary intention was to find someone for either a long-term relationship or marriage.
