Since 2006, the new students enrolled in universities and other higher education institutions in Brazil has increased. In 2022, more than 4.7 million new students enrolled in Brazilian universities, up from almost 3 million newly enrolled students in 2016. Brazil's population amounted to over 204 million people in 2022.
