This statistic shows the results of a survey on the public opinion regarding "fake news" in the United Kingdom (UK) as of March 2017. The survey found that 35 percent of British adults thought that organizations publishing funny or satirical material which was presented so that it looked like real news but was not supposed to be taken seriously counted as "fake news". Nearly a quarter of respondents stated that they thought of this type of content as a problem and that social media should prevent the showing or sharing of material like this on their platforms.
