This statistic shows the average price change per month of a house sold in the Netherlands from 2006 to 2016 (in euros). The NVM is a Dutch branch organization of real estate agents and appraisers. Almost 75 percent of Dutch houses are sold by real estate agents who are members of this organization. In 2016, after a house was sold, its price would increase by approximately 1,500 euros per month. This effectively means that the value of a bought house would increase, and potentially making it harder for new buyers to enter the housing market. The number is an increase from 2012, when prices decreased by approximately 1,200 euros per month and when a purchased house lost parts of its value. In recent years, the housing market has continued to improve in the Netherlands due to low mortgage rates, a recovering economy and a high level of consumer confidence. In the four largest municipalities in the Netherlands, the demand of housing outweighs the supply. In December 2016, the average asking price per square meter of a house in the municipality of Amsterdam was approximately 4,930 euros, an increase compared to the asking price of approximately 3,380 euros in December 2014.
