Employment in tourism and hospitality services in Italy increased by 8.1 percent in 2023 over the previous year, recovering from the impact of COVID-19. While the number of employees declined to 955,000 with the onset of the pandemic, it reached nearly 1.4 million in 2023, the highest figure reported to date.
