This statistic shows the share of digital pay TV subscriptions in Western Europe in 2016, and a projection for 2017 and 2022. The Western European pay TV market is expected to grow within the next years, while the share of digital pay TV subscriptions among all digital TV subscriptions is forecast tol increase from 57.6 percent in 2016 to 60.3 percent in 2022.
Digital cable TV subscriptions are projected to grow by more than seven million, and will remain the second most popular platform after FTA DDT. Liberty Global, Sky and Vodafone will remain the biggest pay TV service providers with a combined market share of 42 percent.
