This statistic illustrates the share of media coverage that references sugar content in food and drink in the United Kingdom (UK) in 2016, by product category. As shown on the graph, cereal received the highest share of negative mentions in regards to sugar content at 67 percent of a 5.7 percent share of sugar-related media content. In contrast, unhealthier categories, such as soft drinks and confectionery, experienced higher levels of sugar-related content in the media but a smaller share of which is negative at only 25 and 33 percent each.
