In India, scheduled caste and scheduled tribe (SC/ST) and OBCs are officially recognized by the constitution as groups of disadvantaged indigenous people. They are the primary beneficiaries of reservation policies under the constitution. The colloquial terms for SCs and STs are Dalits and Adivasis respectively.
