This statistic represents the results of a survey in 2017 across eight cities in India about the reasons drivers across the north-western city of Jaipur make calls while driving. During the survey period, about 63 percent of respondents made calls when travelling at a low speed or if it was work-related, while about 13 percent made calls in the city when it was personal.

According to the source, within each city, four categories of drivers were surveyed: two-wheeler drivers, four-wheeler drivers, truck/bus drivers and auto-rickshaw drivers. Cities surveyed: Delhi, Chennai, Jaipur, Bengaluru, Mangaluru, Kanpur, Mumbai and Kolkata.
