Market share of beer packaging in Norway and Finland 2015, by type

This statistic shows the market share of beer packaging in Norway and Finland in 2015 as combined figures, by type. More than 80 percent of the beer sold in those two Nordic countries was sold in cans. Packaging material like refillable glass bottles are less established for beer, but still have a share of around 10 percent. All cans in Norway and Finland include a deposit which can be refunded at special return machines placed in most supermarkets.
Both countries have their own government-owned monopoly of alcohol retail: Vinmonopolet in Norway and Alko in Finland. Only alcoholic beverages up to an alcohol volume of 4.75 percent in Norway and 4.7 percent in Finland can be found in domestic supermarkets.
