This statistic shows the difference in the average hourly wage of women compared to men in film production in France between 2009 and 2014. Overall, women tended to be paid less in the majority of film production professions. Throughout the period in consideration, the biggest difference in remuneration between women and men was in jobs such as director (-42.3 percent), administrator or production manager (-38.3 percent) and shooting (-29.4 percent). However, in the professions of script supervisor and stunt person, women generally earned more than men, by 9.3 percent and 4.0 percent respectively. A breakdown of gender distribution by job category in the French film production sector shows similar differences, with the majority of women represented in such jobs as script supervisor (96 percent of the workforce), wardrobe person (88.4 percent) and hairdresser (74 percent), whereas men represented the majority in such jobs as grips (95.6 percent of the workforce), gaffer (95.7 percent) and driver (96 percent).
