Due to the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the number of business trips taken by Italians declined remarkably in 2020 over the previous year. Overall, while managers, middle managers, and employees made over four million trips for work reasons in 2019, they took roughly one million business trips in 2020. Meanwhile, entrepreneurs and freelancers made approximately 418 thousand work-related trips in 2020.
