The leading exporting country of rare earth metal compounds in 2022 was Malaysia, accounting for nearly 21 percent of the global rare earth metal exports that year. In the second position was China, which accounted for more than 20 percent of the global rare metal exports. In comparison, the United States accounted for a 17.3 percent share of the rare earth metal exports worldwide.
