With the support of 560,000 private donors, the local branch of the worldwide organization The Save the Children Fund recorded a turnover of around 162 million euros.

Save the Children is an international non-profit organization founded in the UK in 1919. The organization addresses issues related to education, health, emergencies caused by conflicts or natural disasters, abuses, poverty, and food security. The institution operates in more than 100 countries and mobilizes almost 6,000 volunteers and activists in Italy.

Italian non-governmental organizations operate in different parts of the world, with an especially strong presence in the Eastern African countries and in the Middle East. In 2023, Mozambique and Ethiopia hosted the largest number of Italian NGOs that operated abroad.
