This statistic displays the number of deaths in Slovenia in 2010, by cause. During this year there were 18.6 thousand deaths caused by cardiovascular disease and cancer. In this period ischaemic heart disease was the single leading killer among men, accounting for over 1.1 thousand deaths in 2010. This was followed by deaths caused by injuries and poisonings. Stroke was the leading killer among women, amounting to over 1.1 thousand deaths with ischaemic heart disease the second largest killer.
