Survey on most popular grill types for barbecue in Sweden 2016

According to a survey from 2016, most Swedes used charcoal grills for barbecuing. It was stated to be used by 83 percent of respondents. The second most popular grill type was gas grill, named by 24 percent, followed by 11 percent favoring electronic grills. In the same survey, the own garden at home was the favorite place for having barbecues in Sweden.

Barbecue recipes

    One year later, 48 percent of Swedes said that their most common source of inspiration for barbecue recipes were tips from friends and families. Almost the same share used websites to find new recipes, while 22 percent of respondents got inspired by TV programs.

 Easiest and most difficult food

    Among the easiest food to grill on a barbecue with more than four people attending, pork and sausages ranked equal as both were named by 46 percent of the interviewed Swedes in 2017. Hamburger had a share of 42 percent. By comparison, fish and seafood seemed to be the most difficult food to grill, reaching a share of 31 percent. Beef and chicken got also votes as tricky food for big barbecues.
