This statistic shows the results of a survey conducted in the United States in March 2017, by age. U.S. adults were asked what medical conditions they received hospital treatments for in the preceding five years. Among those aged 18 to 29, 44 percent were treated in hospitals for pain, compared to only 17 percent of those aged 61 years and older.
