This statistic shows the results of a survey among Americans in 2017 in regards to their perception of who was largely responsible for the large amount of food waste, with a breakdown by type of community. As of March 2017, some 39 percent of respondents living in a city or urban community stated that grocery stores contributed a large amount to food waste.
