In 2022, 12.4 percent of film writers in the United States were part of ethnic minorities, whereas the remaining 87.6 percent were white, according to the source. A decade earlier, the shares stood at 7.6 and 92.4 percent, respectively. More than 80 percent of movie directors in the U.S. were white in 2022.
