Number of outbound tourist trips from the Netherlands 2012-2023

The number of outbound trips from the Netherlands increased by eight percent in 2023 over the previous year. After declining to under eight million in 2020 due to the impact of COVID-19, the number of trips abroad from the Netherlands rebounded in 2022, then grew further in 2023, peaking at 25 million.

According to Eurostat, outbound trips include all tourism trips made by residents, aged 15 or over, for personal or professional/business purpose, with at least one overnight stay.
