Leading Android communication apps in Sweden 2022, by downloads

In September 2022, WhatsApp Messenger was the most downloaded communication app in the Google Play Store in Sweden, with more than 67.6 thousand downloads. Carrier Services was the second most downloaded communication app and followed closely behind, with over 67.4 thousand downloads from Android users in Sweden. Snapchat ranked third, with roughly 49.7 thousand downloads during the examined period.

Daily active users of communication apps in Sweden

In September 2022, Facebooks’ Messenger had by far the highest number of daily active users (DAU) in Sweden and thus, it was the most used communication app. Over 302 thousand people used it on a daily basis. Skype came second here, reaching a DAU amount of nearly 265 thousand.

Kik generates the highest revenue among communication apps

Based on revenues, the ranking of communication apps in the Google Play Store in Sweden showed a different picture in September 2022. The messaging app Kik was by far the most valuable app in this category. While Discord held the second position in temrs of generated revenue, the spam blocker and call recorder app Truecaller ranked third in the communication app ranking.
