This statistic displays the percentage of U.S. women aged 21 to 65 who had received a cervical cancer screening within recommended time frames, by ethnicity. About 83.2 percent of Non-Hispanic respondents reported that they had received a cervical cancer screening, while 78.4 percent of Mexican/Mexican American respondents reported that they had received a cervical cancer screening. According to the CDC, screening recommendations for women of average-risk are every three years for those age 21-29 or every three to five years for those aged 30 to 65, depending on type of testing preformed. Per the NHIS survey, cervical cancer screenings were lowest among foreign-born women, those without insurance or regular care and those with a lower level of education.
