The value of maternity and child health expenditure in the southern state of Tamil Nadu was the highest compared to other states in India in financial year 2015. This amounted to over ten billion Indian rupees. Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat ranked second and third, far behind at nearly five and four billion rupees respectively.
