There were over 540 million online transfer transactions in Canada in 2019, which was a year-on-year increase of more than 25 percent. According to the source, this marked a significant increase in e-wallet and P2P payment methods - including PayPal - from previous years. For instance, in 2015 around 120 million transactions were made. These figures exclude excluding transactions based on credit and debit cards.
