Throughout 2022, movie theaters across Brazil sold 95.6 million tickets, up from 52.6 million in the previous year – an annual increase of 81.7 percent. Still, the 2022 figure corresponds to a little more than half of the 176.43 million movie tickets sold in 2019, before the coronavirus pandemic. In general,Brazil's box office revenue grew by 98.6 percent between 2021 and 2022.
