Number of new motor vehicle registrations in Japan 2014-2023
In 2023, approximately 4.78 million motor vehicles were newly registered in Japan, up from around 4.2 million new registrations in the previous year. New vehicle registrations include buses, trucks, and passenger cars, of which the latter represent the majority of new registrations in Japan.
