UK: number of charging connectors for electric vehicles 2018-2020
As of January 10, 2020, there were 29,706 publicly available charging connectors for electric vehicles in the United Kingdom. Figures continuously increased over this 23 month period, with a particularly strong growth recorded between February and July 2019.
This development was indicative of greater consumer demand for electric vehicles and the need for better infrastructure to support them. The same time period also saw the number of charging locations nearly double to over 10,600. Electric vehicle charging stations began outnumbering petrol stations in summer 2019.
