Food consumptiion as a share of total Indian expenditure 1993-2026
This statistic represents the distribution of food as a part of India's total expenditure between 1993-94 and 2025-26. In 2011-12, for instance, food consumption expenditure was approximately 45 percent of the total expenditure. The food consumption share had gradually decreased through the years.
