In 2023, attendance at Artis Amsterdam Royal Zoo, also known as "Artis", grew over the previous year. Despite the annual increase, the number of visitors to the zoo remained below the figures recorded before the impact of COVID-19, reaching nearly 1.3 million in 2023. Another popular zoo in the Netherlands is the Diergaarde Blijdorp Zoo in Rotterdam. One of the oldest zoos in the country, it recorded around 1.4 million visitors in 2022.
Overall, De Efteling, with roughly 5.25 million national and international visitors, led the ranking of the attractions with most visitors in the Netherlands in 2019. The Lovers Canal Cruises in Amsterdam was another very popular attraction, welcoming approximately 2.5 million tourists.
