This statistic displays the positive changes in sense of safety and independence due to hearing aids among hearing impaired persons in selected developed countries in 2014-2015. According to a survey conducted during these two years, Italy had the highest percentage of respondents who stated they feel an improvement in the sense of independence, in the surveyed countries. Two thirds of surveyed Italian adults said that the sense of independence developed to "better" or "a lot better".

Note: From the total number of respondents, subsequently data was collected from 3,702 interviews with hearing aid owners and 5,970 interviews with hearing-impaired people people who do not yet own hearing aids across six countries. The interviews were conducted during 2014 and 2015.
* Only those who received HAs in last 5 years were asked in US, so this data point cannot be compared to the ET data.
