DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) is an Obama administration immigration policy that grants deferred action status to illegal immigrants who entered the United States before their 16th birthday and before June of 2007, and are currently in school, highschool granduates, or were honorably discharged from the military. They must also be under age 31 as of June 15, 2012 and not have been convicted of a felony, sever misdemeanor or three or more misdemeanors. Deferred action status is an immigrant status that can defer deportation indefintely.
DAPA (Deferred Action for Parents of Americans) is a planned immigration policy from the Obama administration that would grant deferred action status to eligible illegal immigrants who have lived in the United States since 2010 and have children who are either American citizens or permanent residents. An injunction was issued in February 2015 to stop the program from going into effect until lawsuits surrounding its constitutionality are resolved.
