Share of organic food of total food sales in Coop stores in Sweden 2010-2020

Coop’s share of organic food sales increased in recent years in Sweden. As of 2020, organic food reached almost nine percent of the total food sold in Coop stores. In this year, the supermarket chain generated a revenue of three billion Swedish kronor with the sales of these organic food products.

Number of organic food products 

The chain’s number of available organic food products increased significantly in the period from 2014 to 2018. More than five thousand products were offered in the product range of Coop in 2018. This is almost twice as high as it was four years earlier.  

 Leading grocery stores selling organic food

ICA Sweden is the leading grocery retailer in the country selling organic food and beverages, based on food sales. In 2020, the supermarket chain sold organic food products with a value of eight billion Swedish kronor. Second came the Swedish government-owned chain of liquor stores Systembolaget, while foodservices ranked third.
