Bioenergy generation in Brazil 2011-2022

In 2022, Brazil produced roughly 55.15 terawatt hours of bioenergy. Bioenergy production in Brazil reached around 58.7 terawatt hours in 2020, the peak from the period in consideration. In that year, the country's bioenergy production increased by more than 80 percent in comparison to 2011, when production amounted to approximately 32.6 terawatt hours. In 2022, Brazil was by far the largest bioenergy-producing country in Latin America.
