This statistic shows the opinions of the Arab youth on governmental subsidies for energy, electricity, and transportation fuel (such as gasoline and diesel) for the people in the Middle East and North Africa as of February 2016. A 13 percent share of the respondents stated that they were not in favor of state subsidies for energy and fuel.

* The phrasing of this survey question as it appears in the report is as follows:"Do you think energy, electricity, and transportation fuel such as gasoline and diesel should be subsidised by your government?".
The countries covered by this survey were Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Tunisia, and Yemen.
The survey did not include Syria due to the ongoing civil war there.
Respondents were exclusively comprised of citizens of the countries outlined above, with 50% male and 50% female respondents.
The margin of error for this survey is +/-1.65 per cent.
Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and the United Arab Emirates had 300 respondents. Iraq had 250 respondents and Palestine had 150. Each remaining country had 200 respondents.
The majorty of respondents were from urban areas.
