UK growing celebrity influencers with the most Instagram followers 2020

David Beckham was the most followed celebrity influencer on Instagram in the United Kingdom (UK) in 2020, with 65.2 million followers. Singer Dua Lipa was the second most-followed, and had the fastest-growing number of followers, reaching 58.1 million.

Influencer status not just reserved for celebrities

Instagram has given countless individuals a platform to reach an audience and build a community, other than traditional celebrities or those with access to an existing media network. Successful chefs like Gordon Ramsey and Jamie Oliver have built a massive Instagram audience, both with over 7.5 million followers on the platform. Travel influencers such as Jacob Riglin also attract hundreds of thousands of followers, as do UK influencers in other categories such as fashion and beauty and food.

Instagram usage in the United Kingdom

Instagram finds their largest British audience among females between 25 and 34 years of age, according to a survey . The survey revealed that 25 percent of females aged 25 to 34 use Instagram, compared with 22 percent of males in the same age group. Similar figures are seen in the United States, with 71 percent of Americans aged 18 to 29 using the service.
