Number of car exports from Germany 1960-2023

In 2023, around 3.11 million passenger cars were exported from Germany. This represents an increase of around 17 percent compared to the previous year, but was still below the pre-coronavirus pandemic figure from 2019, when around 3.5 million passenger cars were exported. However, the number of exports had already fallen before the pandemic. Leading markets for German car exports included the U.S. and China.
