Facebook usage frequency in Denmark 2020

80 percent of the Danish Facebook users accessed the social network daily in 2020. Those of the respondents who reported to be using the platform monthly were 99 percent. Facebook was the leading social media platform as a news source in the country that year, followed by YouTube. Furthermore, Facebook Messenger was the most used messaging platform.

Why Facebook?

According to Danes, the main purpose of using Facebook was to keep in touch with friends and family. Entertainment and news were the other two leading reasons to use Facebook in Denmark. Over ten percent used the network to strengthen their professional network. In contrast, that was the main reason why Danes used LinkedIn.

Global users

As of July 2020, Facebook was the number one social network on a global scale as well. It was followed by YouTube and WhatsApp. The number of Facebook users continuously increased over the past decade, starting at 100 million in 2008 and hitting nearly 2.7 billion towards the end of 2020.
