As of 2022, the three leading car models based on imports in the Netherlands were from the German brand Volkswagen. There were roughly 9,800 Volkswagen Golf models imported in the Netherlands, which was the most imported car model. Roughly 7,900 Volkswagen Polos were imported in the same year, whereas the Tiguan had an import volume of 4,300.
