In April 2020, arrivals at accommodation establishments in Germany fell to around 840 thousand due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic restrictions, down from almost 15 million recorded in the same period a year earlier. Since then, the number of tourist arrivals in German accommodations has been on the rise, reaching nearly nine million in June. Arrivals include both residents and non-resident stays in tourist accommodation.
