The source stated the following:

Surveillance of Mycoplasma genitalium and Shigella infections started in 2015, so data before this year is unavailable. Consequently, 'Other new STI diagnoses' and 'New STI diagnosis total' figures from 2015 onwards are not directly comparable to data from earlier years.

Figures reported in 2020 and 2021 are considerably lower than in previous years due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on sexual health services.

The data is updated on an annual basis; thus the numbers may differ from previous publications.
