Clothing, footwear and personal accessory retailing had a turnover of approximately 35.6 billion Australian dollars in the same year, and the household goods industry recognized a total turnover of 69.54 billion Australian dollars in 2023.

Online retailing

Predominantly, Australians spend the most online on homewares. In 2023, products for the home accounted for 19.6 percent of all online spending and groceries and liquor for 16.9 percent. Amazon was the leading online retailer purchased from by online shoppers in Australia in the 12 months to July 2023, followed by Kmart and eBay.
