Between 2006 and 2018, the 20 most innovative FMCG products had a combined weekly turnover of between 1.2 and 2.5 million euros per year on average. In 2018, this combined turnover reached the lowest point in the last 12 years. Its turnover peaked in 2007, at 2.5 million euros.
Unilever most successful innovator
In 2018, FMCG companies made approximately 177 million euros from new product launches. Unilever was the most successful innovator this year. Of the total new product turnover, Unilever was responsible for over 15 percent. This year, Unilever launched products such as Knorr Trattoria and Hertog Singles.
Heineken 0.0, the non-alcoholic beer launched by Dutch beer producer Heineken, was the most successful innovation in the Netherlands in 2017. Since its introduction, the alcohol-free beverage had an average weekly turnover of over 130,000 euros. This was roughly half of the Combined turnover lowest in 2018
